ABOUT LNU

LNU IS A THEATER COMPANY AND COMMUNITY OF BLACK CREATIVES.

OUR CREATIVES Are BOLD & UNAPOLOGETIC. THEY ARE DEDICATED TO GENDER JUSTICE, QUEER JUSTICE AND DISABILITY JUSTICE. We believe in showing up as our full selves and creating from our relative experiences.

How LNU Started…

Originally LNU was the title of 2 of T. S. Banks earliest plays “Loud & Unchained” (2014) and “Loud & Unchained: Spiritual” (2015). Both Plays dealt with navigating the medical and psyche industrial complex while Black, mad, and in chronic pain. Living Loud ‘N Unchained became a commitment to vulnerability, healing and connection when exploring first-person narratives. Today LNU has released over 6 major productions “Pushed to Live” (2013), “Loud & Unchained” (2014), “Loud &Unchained: Spiritual” (2015), “We the 350: Stories of Poverty, Racism, and incarceration in WI” (2015), “Truth Tongue Spit” (2016), and “When the Marks Fade” (2016).
